You know what it’s like when it’s Thanksgiving and you’re supposed to give thanks for all of the little things in your life. However, things are not going so well in your life and you’re having trouble finding that gratitude. For some reason you’re just stuck in misery and I can’t find it anywhere. But even if you start small you can bring that feeling of gratefulness back that gratitude is within you.
In a book that I was reading recently (The Most Powerful Goal Achievement System in the World ™: The Hidden Secret to Getting Everything You Want by Mike Pettigrew) Mike had fallen on hard times and the first thing he did before starting new goals that he began to fight for was to radiate gratitude. It did not take the gentleman along before you really felt that sense of gratitude and that helped him Propel towards his new goals. Now he may not feel that you can find this right now but think of this simplest thing that you are even the slightest bit grateful for. Now multiply that.
Hold on to that feeling for as long as you can. Maybe it’s for a few fleeting seconds but it’s a start. Keep practicing and see how long you can go with feeling that gratitude. Before long you will develop a deeper sense of gratitude and everyday will become Thanksgiving day.
