Often overlooked in the importance of giving. We seldom realize that how giving plays a role in our lives. Life is a constant play between giving and receiving. Also we have gifts to give and share with the world and we seldom do. You can challenge yourself to find that gift and share it with the world. Take a giving challenge and give away one thing a day for a set number of days and see how healing giving can be.
Have you ever given to a charitable cause? Maybe to help out with a natural disaster like for the recent earthquakes in Nepal. Maybe you donated your time to a cause or spent time volunteering. Those gifts that we share of time and money can help others immensely and it allows us to connect with others.
Life is also a constant play between giving and receiving. We give and we receive every day. You might even think of breathing as giving and receiving, you breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide which is taken in by plants and they give off oxygen in return. There is also the more mundane forms of giving and receiving for example buying lunch, you give money and you receive your food. Sometimes though we give without receiving and that is alright too. People might need something that you are giving more than you do.
What you do have is a gift that you can share with the world. Some people don’t let their gifts out but hold them in out of fear. Others may not know what their gifts are but going out and discovering what your gift is can be the best part of life. Make yourself your gift to the world, share what you love! Don’t be shy, go out and live.
