Helping others, feeling good or good Karma? The idea is that people who receive help are more likely to help you out. Even if they don’t wind up returning favors it’s really not about that it’s about doing the good things and creating Good Karma. By helping people out you in turn help yourself out which is the main idea behind this blog.
Kind acts come with expected reciprocity sometimes. Sometimes it’s something small like a a smile and a thank you. Other times it might be something big and completely unexpected. It could even be that you send out ripples of kindness that in turn return to you. You never know how it will work out but, chances are it’ll be for the best.
Sometimes it may happen completely by chance just by doing a favor for someone who turns out to be in position to help you. Take for example a woman who is writing scripts winding up hosting a producer for a few weeks in her flat. And As a repayment he read through her scripts and gave feedback and notes. Now this wasn’t planned as at the time she had no idea that the man was a television producer. However it worked out very well. So be open to the opportunities to help because it may pay you back in more ways than one.
Now don’t bother counting favors or you’ll be miserable. Do it because it brings good feelings and it’s healthy for you. You might see return and it could be many times the original deed. Before writing this blog I asked a number of friends how helping others helps them. They seemed unanimous in that it was more about the good feelings that they got rather than any potential reward. For many people that’s all they need. So, just go out and help people, it will feel good and you might get good karma in return.
